Changing the Face of Pain in Missouri
The Changing the Face of Pain in Missouri collaborative
is a network of health care organizations working to improve
the care of Missourians in pain. Launched through a partnership
between the Missouri Pain Initiative and the State Advisory Council
on Pain and Symptom Management, the Changing the Face of Pain
in Missouri collaborative has developed a two-year strategic
plan aimed at public engagement and empowerment, improving healthcare
providers ability to assess and treat pain, and helping to shape
policy on pain issues.

| American Pain Foundation Launches Fibromyalgia Awareness Pilot Project in Missouri |
| To raise awareness about fibromyalgia (FM), an often misdiagnosed, musculoskeletal pain
condition that affects up to six million Americans, the American Pain Foundation (APF) is piloting a Is Fibro the Cause? awareness project in Missouri. They are working with community and statebased alliance groups and fibro advocates to disseminate our new Is Fibro the Cause? toolkit.
Not only does this toolkit include helpful tips and resources on how to recognize fibromyalgia’s
signs and symptoms, but also provides a worksheet to help track symptoms and facilitate
communication with your health care provider.
